Lavender Munstead is named after Munstead Woods in Surrey which was the home of Gertrude Jeckyl a famous garden designer. 
 
The term Munstead is synonymous with Dwarf Munstead, Munstead Blue and  "Munstead variety." This is a dwarf English Lavender variety of Lavandula angustifolia and is popular and early flowering.
